About Us

Nestled in the peaceful community of Nawfia, Anambra State, the GEANCO Community Center is a modern facility dedicated to transforming the lives of young people through education, skills development, and innovation. We focus on equipping young adults with the knowledge, confidence, and practical skills they need to thrive in today’s rapidly changing world.

At the center, we offer programs that combine capacity development with hands-on learning in emerging fields such as robotics, renewable energy, and digital technology. Our training is designed to bridge the gap between education and opportunity, preparing participants for employment, entrepreneurship, and lifelong success.

GCC Technicals is an arm of the Legions of Hope Initiative, focused on providing technical, vocational, and digital skills training that empowers young people to succeed in a technology-driven economy and contribute meaningfully to their communities.

Our goal is simple: to create a nurturing environment where young people can learn, grow, innovate, and build a brighter future for themselves and the communities they serve.

Significance of the Initiatives

Across underserved communities in Nigeria, young families face significant challenges that hinder their ability to thrive and reach their full potential. One of the most pressing issues is the lack of adequate communal learning opportunities, exacerbated by the absence of community resource centers. Without access to essential resources and support services, individuals and families struggle to overcome socio-economic barriers and break the cycle of poverty.

The establishment of Village Resource Centers by GEANCO addresses this critical gap by providing a multifaceted solution to the challenges faced by young families. By offering a range of programs and services tailored to meet the diverse needs of the community, these centers serve as invaluable hubs for empowerment, education, and social support.

The initiatives implemented within these centers, including after-school programs, library facilities, workforce training, and health workshops, play a crucial role in addressing key issues faced by young families:

Education and Skill Development

The after-school program and library facilities provide children and young adults with access to educational resources, tutoring, and technology, enhancing their academic performance and equipping them with the skills needed for future success in the workforce.

Employability

Workforce training programs empower young adults with marketable skills and vocational training, enhancing their employability and economic prospects, thereby breaking the cycle of poverty and dependency.

Recreation and Social Development

The provision of indoor games and recreational activities fosters social interaction, creativity, and physical well-being among children, contributing to their overall development and resilience.

Health and Well-being

Community and family health workshops provide essential information and resources to young parents, promoting maternal and child health, preventive care, and overall well-being within the community.
